Licence agreement

Lacspace Corporation Pvt. Ltd. grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the iSmartExams application and to access its content for your own examination preparation.

This licence lasts as long as your account is in good standing. It is a licence to use, not a transfer of ownership — nothing in it gives you rights in the software or the question bank themselves.

• Install the app on any devices you personally use.
• Download lessons, notes, vocabulary and audio for your own offline study.
• Take screenshots for your own notes, or to ask a question in our community.
• Quote a short passage with attribution — a question in a study group message, for instance.
• Export your own data, including your attempt history, at any time.

We are not trying to make normal study awkward. Everything a candidate would reasonably do while preparing is permitted.

• Copy or extract the question bank in bulk, by hand or by automated means.
• Redistribute, publish, sell or share our content — including in a paid group, a coaching class or a PDF.
• Use our content to build or train a competing product or a machine learning model.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or modify the application.
• Circumvent access controls, subscription checks or scoring.
• Remove or obscure copyright notices and attribution.
• Share your account credentials so that others use one licence.

Ours. The application, its source code, design, illustrations, the question bank, explanations, lessons, audio recordings, and the iSmartExams and Lacspace names and logos.

Yours. Your attempt history, your notes, your bookmarks, and anything you write in the community. You license us to display community posts within the platform; you keep ownership.

Your institute's. Questions an institute uploads to its own portal belong to that institute. We host and serve them and take no rights in them.

Third parties'. Past examination papers remain the property of the examining bodies that set them. Where we reproduce or adapt one, it is used for educational preparation and attributed.

The application and this website are built on open-source software, including React Native, Expo, Next.js and a number of smaller libraries. Each is used under its own licence, and those licences are listed inside the app under Settings → About → Open source.

Nothing in this agreement restricts your rights under those licences with respect to those components.

Institutions receive a separate licence covering their portal, their administrators and their enrolled students, agreed in writing when the account is created.

That licence permits an institute to distribute our content to its own enrolled students within the portal. It does not permit distribution outside it, and it does not transfer ownership of anything.

If you send us an idea for a feature, we may implement it without owing you payment or attribution. This is standard, and it exists so that acting on user suggestions does not create a legal risk for us.

It does not apply to content you post in the community, which remains yours, or to bug reports, which are just bug reports.

The app updates itself over the air for changes that do not require a store release. By using it you consent to receiving those updates, which are covered by this same licence.

An update will never reload the app during an examination attempt. Downloaded updates are applied when you are not mid-paper.

Your licence ends when you close your account, or when we terminate it for a breach of these terms or the terms of service.

On termination you must stop using the application and delete any downloaded content. Your own data remains exportable for thirty days, except where termination was for exam fraud.

This licence is governed by the laws of Nepal. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu.

For licensing questions, including requests to use our content in a way this page does not permit, write to hello@lacspace.com. We do grant permission sometimes, and asking costs nothing.
